ACM offers new options for managing copyright

ACM American Computer Machinery, the American publisher now offers authors three options for managing publication rights:

1. An “author-payer” model that offers open access to an article for which royalties have been paid in advance,

2. A “Publishing License Agreement”, a license for non exclusive use, where the author does not give up their rights,

3. A “Copyright Transfer Agreement” which grants the publisher exclusive rights over the article.

Inria’s IST network recommends that researchers opt for the Publishing License Agreement where the authors do not give up their rights,
