National licences: access to Nature and Elsevier publications archives

istex-frThe portfolio of resources acquired under a national licence is growing thanks to ISTEX (Initiative d’excellence de l’Information Scientifique, or the Initiative for Excellence in Scientific and Technical Information).

These new agreements could be of interest to Inria’s scientists:

  • Nature – Nature Publishing Group: access to the entire archive (1869-2012) of Nature Magazine, as well as the archives of seven other titles specialised in immunology, biology, chemistry, and neuroscience (Nature Reviews Immunology, Nature Cell Biology, Nature Reviews Drug Discovery, Nature Chemistry, Nature Immunology, Nature Structural and Molecular Biology, Nature Reviews Neuroscience) totalling about 400,000 articles.
  • Elsevier: access to around 2,250 titles published between 1823 and 2001, totalling about 5.7 million scientific articles across various disciplines.

For the scientists of Inria Lille: the electronic accesses will be available during the month of March.

NB: ISTEX is an ‘investment in the future’ project financed by the Comissariat Général à l’Investissement (a government investment body) and the French National Centre for Scientific Research’s National Agency for Research. ISTEX also involves three other partners: the Couperin Consortium which identifies needs and selects sources, the Agence bibliographique de l’Enseignement Supérieur (ABES, the Higher Education Library Agency), which handles negotiations and acquisitions, and the University of Lorraine on behalf of the Conference of University Presidents, which provides innovation services.
