PEER – Publishing and the Ecology of European Research

PEER is a European project bringing together publishers, publication archives and researchers around the general theme of open access. Its objective is to observe the effects of the systematic and large-scale submission of scientific articles to publication archives. To carry out this project, European archives, including HAL, have been networked. HAL’s PEER portal was recently launched for receiving publications :
Submissions are made via this portal (“PEER Dépôt”), which manages the standardisation of data and redirects information to participating publication archives. Inria is in charge of managing PEER Dépôt and is responsible for standardising publishers’ formats under the TEI format.
