Ten years on from the Budapest Open Access Initiative : Recommendations

After 10 years, the Budapest Open Access Initiative publishing recommendations to continue the development of open access in the next 10 years. First, policies of funding agencies, universities … must clearly state the necessity of deposit to researchers and publishers refrain from obstructing the process. Licenses adopted should allow reuse of articles. Organizations and universities have to provide researchers sustaining infrastructure and tools, and secure funding. Finally, measures of coordination and communication between stakeholders should be devised to strengthen these policies.
